Until 2018, the racing-inspired Honda Civic Type R had never been available in The States. But that hadn’t stopped people from driving it. For years, hardcore Type R fans turned to the only place they could get behind the wheel of one in the US: video games.
To launch the Type R in the US, we held a mixed-reality race that bridged two diverse fan bases: racing enthusiasts and gamers. R vs R was a tech-infused, data-driven experience where the real-world 2018 Type R actually raced the Xbox One Forza Motorsport 7 version.
